Mom should have been notified ahead of time if it was a scheduled half day
It was a last-minute school closure (like cheery bombs in the toilets busting the plumbing) the school would have called to arrange the kids to go home even if she was trusted to walk home to make sure there was someone home.
that leaves sent home for some rules violation, leaving room for “get made”
but following Parental Love, it seams Lena’s home life isn’t the best.
The phrasing she used is “kicked out”, and she only speaks for herself, rather than say “they kicked everybody out”. This does suggest strongly she was sent home for doing something wrong (heck, the very first page of this comic gives us a possible reason).

This would have been better if Lena had sneaked past the naked people before she realized something was off.
Having spent much of her lifetime walking around while staring down at her phone, Lena is not accustomed to paying attention to her surroundings.
That was quite the curveball.
