I think someone needs to give her mom the Online Safety Talk, before there’s any chance of Lena hearing it.
I was born in 1980. I watched the Internet’s predecessors give way to it’s early days, and then watched it grow into what it is now. When my generation was in school, they taught that the Internet was to be used with total anonymity. Always use an pseudonym, never give out your A/S/L.
Then in 2004, along came Facebook, and suddenly privacy is “uncool” and stalking people got comically easy, particularly for government snoops (whose intentions are no better than Lena’s chat-perv here) or just some thief who wants all the answers to your default security questions, neatly arranged with tagged pictures.
The real predominant reasons may have changed, but I’d say using the Internet anonymously is more important now than ever.
But barring having met them IRL and been given their connection info, you have no way of knowing who anyone is, so a vague cautionary to be “careful” is effectively impossible.
You “be careful” by uninstalling that app.
She has had the online safety talk at her age? and she’s chats addict? not a good combo!
to quote a Saffron Herndon a 10yo standup comic “Every time I meet someone online, they end up in jail” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOzDX0Ufgds

You should really be careful who you chat with online.
