Mom apparently went from furious, to calm enough to draw a mini-comic story, and back to spankingly furious again, and took the time to dress in the filthy clothes, as though wanting Lena to get the most out of her prank.
Also, at what point in the wash cycle did Lena throw mud in, that it spread and stained all the clothes with mud… in a machine that was built specifically to wash the mud off of clothing? Right at the final spin cycle?
I hate to point out that front loading washers will NOT open once you press the start button. So the dirt/mud would have to be there BEFORE the cloths are loaded.
Does mom use detergent in her washer?
There’s a very simple solution to this mystery.
Nobody put any mud in the washer…
… it’s much more efficient to put the mud in the dryer.
This explains the muddy clothes, but not why mom felt the need to put them on.
Little Lena had a hard time sitting down for a while, that’s how I imagine the story ending.
She’s gonna be grounded, of course.
I mean, what ELSE could her mother DO in a case like this??
Hopefully Mom will supply the final panel to her comic strip.
I have no idea how this story can end. Hope Berg will tell us the end at the next week
See, this is the problem with tell-all writing: telling too much!
I like that the mom opened the washing machine, saw that the clothes were dirtier than when she put them in, and then /put them on anyway/.
I also like that it’s the mom who drew these childish scribbles.
Those are things that break the joke for me.

The machine is designed to wash mud off clothing, but not to handle having a few liters of extra mud thrown in.
We need the Mythbusters to test this stuff.
